Reducing Compressed Air Loss and Energy Costs
The Challenge
The compressed air system had not been audited in 12–15 years, creating an opportunity to identify air losses and improve system efficiency.
The Solution
We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the compressed air system, identifying leaks and opportunities to improve components, system design and distribution.
The Results
- 937 compressed air leaks identified
- 297.7 SCFM of estimated air loss
- $37,559 in estimated annual energy costs associated with identified leaks
- 80% of air loss attributed to large and extra-large leaks
The Outcome
They received a prioritized roadmap for repairs and system improvements, creating opportunities to reduce air loss and energy costs while improving system reliability and performance. Additional opportunities were identified for leak detection, training and system optimization.
